Experience - 25.01.21
Welcome to the Year 5 & 6 Home Learning for the week beginning 25th January.
Very well done to all for another great week of work and learning. You found out some very interesting information about California for your fact sheets and produced some terrific writing about the Great Redwoods of Sequoia National Park.
I wonder who managed to find the tallest tree in Borough Green?
This week, we travel back across California to the west coast to look at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. We will be finding out about the bridge’s history as well as thinking about all those who made the journey across America in 1849 during the Gold Rush that created and shaped the Golden State.
We will be inspired by a bridge in our writing too, where we will look at a short animation and write a narrative plot for it. The film may well remind you of the Two Trees work that we did in school at the start of the year, so feel free to magpie ideas from there too.
Our Guided Reading Zooms will tell us more about Kissin’ Kate and things start to get even harder for Stanley and his friends.
There’s a musical challenge for you this week as well as more practical science to have a go at. It’s going to be a very busy and fun-filled few days!
Below is our timetable for this week.
