Experience - 04.01.21
Welcome to the Year 5 and 6 Home Learning for the week beginning 4th January.
First of all, a very Happy New Year to our wonderful pupils. We hope the Christmas break was restful for you. We are so sad to not be seeing you on Monday so please stay in touch and send as much work as possible to our email addresses; we will reply as soon as we can and it will help us to feel more connected. We could even print out your work and stick it into your Learning Experience books.
California Dreaming is an experience that we LOVE teaching – have a look at the Medium Term Plan and the Knowledge Organiser on the school website and you’ll see why! We are going to study the state of California and compare it to the UK. California is a fascinating place full of history, variety and incredible geography – have any of you been there? Let us know if you have. Mrs Martin has and was amazed by the steep streets of San Francisco, the straight rows of vines in the Napa Valley vineyards and the impressive Mount Shasta, a dormant (although described as ‘potentially active’ by Wikipedia!) volcano. Mrs Quantick visited the theme parks in California as a teenager and would love to go back to see more of the natural wonders we are going to learn about this term.
You will be going on a journey with us, travelling the east coast of California and stopping to admire many of this state’s national parks, wildlife, cities and mountain ranges. So have your passport, suitcase and travel journal ready!
Below is our timetable for the first week and all support documents.
