Year 5 and 6 enjoyed learning the story of Sheherazade, from the piece by composer Rimsky-Korsakov, with author James Mayhew this week.
As a follow-up, the children enjoyed an outdoor music lesson where they looked in detail at characters of the sultan and Sheherazade and composed their own motifs representing each character using percussion instruments, voices and body percussion. They produced some brilliant ideas!
